.....but our friends at Secret World (www.secretworld.org) and Many Tears Animal Rescue (www.manytears.co.uk) need our help more than ever at this time of year. Please take a look at their websites to see the amazing work they do. We collect donations of food, bedding and anything else which can help them in their work, and the collections are picked up regularly by their representatives in Worle. To find contact details for our shop please look at our website. Many thanks. Rob.
Love it or hate it it's all over our screens at the moment. This year the celebs seem an interesting lot with some strong characters in amongst them. Sparks could be flying soon!!
Nadine, as expected, is getting the short straw each time with the viewers, can't think why. As for Helen, she's moving on, it seems, from being a total wimp to at least having a go. Having said that 10 seconds buried underground is, I think, a great achievement. Not sure I would last that long especially when the crickets and mealworms dropped in!! I just wish my shop had supplied the creepy crawlies, what a sale that would have been!! Might consider stocking camel toes, is there a demand for them? To be continued..................
Well November 5th has passed, but, no doubt, as in prevous years, we will continue to see and hear more explosions right through to the New Year.
So, should the sale of fireworks to the general public be banned? Should we only have organized events on November 5th?
There are, of course, many very responsible people out there who enjoy fireworks safely in their own back gardens. Conversely, there are some organised events which can go wrong. Witness Lewes and Edinburgh his year. Accidents can happen anywhere.
We all have our own views on this subject, but as an animal lover I think organised events in November and at New Year is the way forward. Apart from anything else the cost of home displays compared to organised events is totally out of proportion. For example, the display at Keynsham Rugby Club cost £7.00 for an adult ticket. For that you got an amazing display that lasted around 25 minutes. What would a home display look like for that sort of money?
Food for thought?
